Developmental Stages

Infants

Infants progress through important developmental stages during their first year of life, growing rapidly in physical, cognitive, social, and emotional areas. During this time, they develop motor skills such as rolling, sitting, crawling, and eventually walking, while also beginning to communicate through sounds, gestures, and early words. Infants learn by exploring their environment and forming strong bonds with caregivers, which supports brain development, emotional security, and early problem-solving skills that lay the foundation for future learning.

Toddlers

Toddlers experience rapid growth and development as they begin to explore the world with increasing independence. During this stage, children develop stronger motor skills such as walking, running, and climbing, along with expanding language abilities and early communication skills. Toddlers also grow socially and emotionally by learning to express feelings, follow simple directions, and interact with others, building confidence and foundational skills that support future learning and development.

Two's

Two-year-olds are in a stage of rapid growth marked by increasing independence and curiosity. At this age, children continue to strengthen motor skills such as climbing, jumping, and beginning to run, while their language development expands quickly with new words and simple phrases. Socially and emotionally, two-year-olds are learning to express their feelings, assert independence, and engage in simple play alongside others, building important skills for communication, self-regulation, and early learning.

Pre-K

Preschoolers experience significant growth across all areas of development as they become more confident and independent learners. During this stage, children strengthen fine and gross motor skills, expand language and early literacy abilities, and begin developing early math and problem-solving skills. Socially and emotionally, preschoolers learn to cooperate, take turns, follow routines, and express emotions appropriately, building the self-confidence and foundational skills needed for success in kindergarten and beyond.
